Is our brave new information society crumbling right before our very eyes?
I'm only speaking from personal experience, but given the daily availability of a growing number of cell phone owners, it certainly looks that way.
Allow me to elaborate: my assumption is that after the first ten or so years of euphoria about mobile telecommunication, a kind of disenchantment is setting in as people start to realize that cell phones don't bring success, excitement, love and happiness after all. Either that, or they're pissed about people contacting them every five minutes to bitch about some irrelevant BS. In both cases, people have probably become frustrated and decided to turn their darn cells off for good. Which, for me, begs the question: why the hell do they own them in the first place?!
Gotta go.... trying to reach a cell phone owner
